When you’ve got a day at the beach, a series of fitness classes, (right on the sand, might I add) and an endless helping of delicious, all-natural cocktails, what could be better??
Actually, it was better at the Santa Monica Beach on Saturday. Equinox, Refine Mixers, and This Shirt Helps all came together to benefit Waves 4 Water, a non-profit that works to provide clean water to communities in need around the world. The fun-filled event began with an invigorating 9 a.m. yoga, taught by Jennifer Pastiloff, followed by METCON3 and VIPR classes taught by Greg Cohen, and closed with a butt-kicking dose of Body Bootcamp with Aimee. Bringing the beats was maybe the most awesome DJ I’ve ever seen: Jennifer “Spags” Spingola. Not only did she play great music, but she was playing an electric violin, too! Way cool.
Surrounding the fitness area were other fun activities and treats, including hair braiding, nail art, and, of course, cocktails! Courtesy of Refine Mixers, guests enjoyed refreshing drinks made from all-natural mixers, including a watermelon cucumber mojito. (Not gonna lie, I took a load off and sipped my mojito while people were hard at work getting into shape.)
Also nearby was This Shirt Helps, a very cool concept dedicated to helping a worthy cause: Buy an everyday item— in this case, a shirt— and for each shirt you buy, you can choose which cause you’d like your purchase to support, whether it’s people, animals, or the planet.
It was such a treat to see the community come together not only to embrace a healthy lifestyle, but to give back and have fun doing it all! Be sure to check out everyone involved with the event and consider supporting… To your health!
