If you follow me on Instagram you must have seen the photo I put up a few days ago featuring a golden/bronze makeup look. Practically every other comment urged me to do a tutorial for this look, so guess what this week’s video’s going to be?!

Before the video goes up, I’m going to share a list of the products I used to achieve this look:

For my eyes, I started out using the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I used Half Baked, Smog, and Darkhorse— pretty simple! I followed with my Laura Mercier Creme Eyeliner in Noir to line my upper and lower lash lines, and for my lashes, I must share my newest discovery: House of Lashes!! This was my first time trying a pair of their lashes and I’m hooked! I used the Noir Fairy style; these must be the best lashes I’ve ever tried. It’s a very full style with varied lengths across… My new favorite!

On to the face: For this look, it was important to add a lot of slightly shimmery bronze to my cheeks and a touch of gold highlight. I used the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips in Waikiki Strip to add the perfect glowing bronze to my face, and added just a bit of the NARS blush in Orgasm to my cheeks for a bit of color. Orgasm is a great coral shade with gold undertones that really complements this look. I finished off with a gold highlighter, also from NARS, from the Foreplay palette.

Finally, for my lips I applied the Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick in Juicy Peach. For a touch of gold, I took my La Femme loose pigment in #6 (it’s a peachy gold pigment) and applied with my finger just to the center of my lips. This added just enough gold to complement the look without stealing any thunder from the eyes!!

Look for the video tomorrow on my YouTube channel!

It’s by MAC, and I know it’s a shadow, I just don’t know the name of it because it’s so worn off :( But it’s a medium matte brown!

I can’t read the name on it, (it’s worn off) but it’s a matte brown shadow by MAC.

Would you recommend the Naked 1 or the Naked 2 palette. I love the LORAC pro but I can’t seem to find it. I have brown eyes and olive skin tone (similar to yours). Thanks!! xox

They are both comparable but I like the Naked 2 just a little better. One reason being that it has “Blackout” in it, which is the blackest eyeshadow you’ll ever find. So if you want to create more dramatic looks you have the option of that with the Naked 2. With Naked 1, you get more bronzey, plum looks. I also like the matte shades better in Naked 2.

Thank you! Do you think the Naked 2 will give me bluish undertones? I am trying to avoid that when I work with cobalt/pewter shadows? Again thanks so much for all your help xox I am a huge fan!

Also, have you tried the Josie Maran Coconut Cheek Jelly stuff? What is your favourite cream/liquid blush?

I haven’t heard of that one yet but it sounds great! My favorite cream blush is by Stila, the color is called Gerbera.

No not at all :) in fact the naked 1 palette is the one with the lighter and darker blue shadows. The Naked 2 is more neutral, pewter, and dark shades, including black.

It really depends on which video, but I will either use two soft boxes or a ring light that goes around my camera lens.

Gold makeup looks beautiful on you! I love wearing gold because it accentuates my eyes, especially because I have dark hair. I’ve never heard of that Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick but it looks fabulous and I am definitely going to check it out!I also really like to use this product called Eye Majic, their Silk Indulgence color is one of the most awesome shades of gold!
