blush

Blush is my favorite part of applying makeup; it’s a subtle hint of color but it really brightens up my skin! I love using a soft pink hue to bring more life to my face, and I’ve got a quick video on DivineCaroline.com where I show you how I apply powder and cream blush!

Just like finding the perfect pink gloss, I’m always on the hunt for the perfect pink blush! Here are my current favorites:

My favorite powder blush is Instain by theBalm in Argyle, and my favorite cream blush is the Convertible Color by Stila in Gerbera. Read the full story and watch me apply them using my technique here!

    Hi Teni.

Huge fan of your channel and blog — I’ve learned so many great techniques from you! I have non-blush related question; I was wondering what you ask for when you get your hair cut? My hair is all one length, hits my bra strap, and it has a similar texture to yours. It’s starting to look really frumpy in pictures, so I wanted to get some sort of style!

    <3 Thanks :-)

The girl who cuts my hair went to school at Vidal Sassoon and I think their technique is SO great. Either that or my girl is just really awesome at cuts!! Somehow every time she cuts my hair, it ends up looking much healthier and all the dry/damaged bits are trimmed off, but my hair never looks shorter! Ask to keep your hair fuller at the bottom so they don’t go crazy with layers and give you a choppy look a la Jennifer Aniston in the 90′s. Also, if you dig your fingers into your hair just above your ears and bring that hair forward, that should stay long. Almost as long as the longest layer of your hair. This way your hair always looks longer and fuller, because if you get layers AROUND your face, that’s an outdated look that makes your hair look shorter, takes forever to grow out, and isn’t easy to style!

Hi Ten, I certainly appreciate all the time and effort you put into this blog. As someone of similar colouring and with dry skin also, it’s a pleasure to view a blog and be rest assured that there’s a high degree of quality and accuracy. Especially loved your top 5 foundation video. Could you please do a similar one featuring Concealer and your preferred method of application? Also, I’d love to know your foundation shades as unfortunately that information wasn’t listed in the YouTube video. Many thanks!

Hello! Love all your videos about skincare and makeup. I wanted to get your opinion. I’m olive skin like you and tomorrow I have to attend a b-day party of about 250 people and it will be around 3pm-midnight. Was wondeing what kind of makeup would you recomend? a makeup for the day or more for the nite? love the bright lip color and soft makeup or nude color and smokey eys. I’ll be wearing black pants and black and white Peplum top.

    Thanks, Karla

Hey Karla, for an event like that I would take the opportunity to do something really versatile like a brown or black liner, smudged out, with lots of mascara. If you want you can lay down a neutral base before you put on the liner, something like “Seductive” from the Nude Tude palette: http://www.thebalm.com/nude-tude.html. And on your lips go with a soft pink/mauve color. Especially with a black and white outfit, a clean pink-and-neutral color scheme for your makeup will go perfectly with your olive skin.

    Hi Teni,

I have a sunscreen question for you: I use Ole Henriksen BB cream SPF 30. They say you need to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours. If that is the case, do you reapply over the makeup you already have on your face? How do you go about not smudging or washing out the makeup you already have on when reapplying SPF? Also, I don’t know if you’re aware, but its very difficult to access some parts of your blog. It just times out after I click on your skincare tab and says that it could not connect to the page. Just thought you should know. Keep up the good work! :)

thanks for the notice ;) I’m doing some reorganizing on my blog right now so it might be semi-functional for a few days, ha! Regarding the sunscreen issue… If you’re not directly in the sun all day, I see no reason to reapply every 2 hours. If you’re at the beach, under the sun outdoors, anything like that, I assume you will have little to no makeup on at that point so reapplication should be easy! But again, if you’re not directly in the sun for hours at a time, you’re okay with your first application of the day.

I usually just apply either a light pink gloss or a clear balm! I just became hooked on the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment (it comes in different tinted shades) and I’ll be reviewing those soon so you’ll see exactly how each one looks.
