With fall just around the corner, I’m starting to collect the best neutral nail polish colors for the season. My fall wardrobe is usually concentrated around the grey color scheme. Slate, taupe, and cement combined with the warmer mochas and creams make for a great seasonal wardrobe! There’s something both cozy and chic about this color scheme, and I’ve got five of my favorite polishes to bring a little fall flavor to your fingertips.
These neutrals are strictly on the grey scale: There’s a touch of brown, taupe, and purple in each of these colors, giving the greys a warm and cool variation. My personal favorite is the Cover Girl polish in “Toasted Almond“: It’s very much like the Sonia Kashuk polish in “Tauped” but it’s just slightly warmer. It’s the perfect color to come peeking out of the sleeves of your favorite fall sweater!
If you’re looking for a darker shade, the Sally Hansen polish in “Grey Area” is a rich slate with just a touch of purple. It’s a unique color that I don’t see often in nail polish. And though it doesn’t look this way through the bottle, the Rimmel London nail polish in “Steel Grey” has quite a bit of that lavender coming through for a softer finish.
Finally, there’s “Did You Ear About Van Gogh?” by OPI, which is my favorite pale polish! It looks just like the color of your coffee after you’ve put just a liiiiittle too much creamer in it. You know what I’m talking about!! It’s the perfect blend of light grey, beige, and taupe.
You’ll catch me in one of these five shades of grey on any given day. Just looking at these colors makes me so excited for the fall!
