Before I start explaining how the makeover app works, I have to say that I’ve tried at least half a dozen other apps both on my phone and on the computer where you can “try on” different hair colors, and every single one just looked incredibly fake; too fake to be able to discern whether a particular cut or color would look good on me. Now, with this new makeover function, not only can you try on hairstyles and colors that look as real as it can get, but you can also try everything from eyeliner and eyeshadow to foundation and lip color. Yes. You read correctly.
I invite you to play around on this mind-blowing app using either a preloaded photo of one of the models, or a photo of yourself. Obviously, a photo of yourself is probably ideal since you’re going to want to try on colors that you might be interested in! Here are a couple of tips for what kind of photos to use: First, be sure to pull all of your hair back, including your bangs. Also be sure to leave room at both sides of your face as well as the top of your head, just in case you try on any updos. It’s best to wear just a simple tank top for your photo, too. And try to avoid selfies so you can really get an accurate picture of what these styles and colors will look like on you!
As I said, you can try on different hairstyles and makeup colors, which is awesome enough in itself. But you must try the 1-Click Look: On the left-hand side you can click on photos of different celebrities, and on the right-hand side it will transform your photo with the same hair and makeup as the celebrity you picked!
I know it’s hard to grasp the idea of “trying on” makeup on the computer. I had to see it to believe it the first time: I just couldn’t imagine how this virtual program could possibly paint my face with makeup and cut and color my hair without looking fake. It’s really remarkable!
There are so many other functions I could go over but you need to see it for yourself! Give it a shot and play with this sweet makeover app. I’m warning you, though… It’s addicting! Click on the “Makeover” tab in the navigation bar, or use the button in the right-hand menu… Enjoy!!
In this first screen shot, you can see I’ve picked Eva Mendez’s hair to go on the model.
