SKIN SUPERSTAR: GLAMGLOW

mask2

For the longest time I’ve been hearing about GLAMGLOW as the coveted must-have mask. Recently I had the chance to try out the YOUTHMUD mask as well as the THIRSTYMUD mask, both of which have become permanent products in my skincare arsenal!

I was eager to see the results of the YOUTHMUD mask, so I tried it first: My first impression of the mask was that it looked like a traditional mask with the dark gray/green color and thick texture. I also noticed there were little dark bits in the mask, too, and discovered that these are green tea leaf pieces. It’s got a very earthy almost seaweed-like smell, totally pleasant for a mud mask. So I proceeded to apply all over my face and waited for about 10 minutes until the majority of the mask had dried to an opaque light green. Now here’s where the magic started: Upon rinsing the mask off my face, I felt an amazing exfoliation happening… Something I did not expect! After doing some research I believe this must be the volcanic pumice rock, because it’s a super fine texture, but the exfoliation factor is out of this world! It felt incredible. Once I rinsed the whole mask off, my skin looked absolutely radiant! It was smooth, bright, and looked completely refreshed. I had pretty high expectations of this mask, but I can honestly say the experience of trying it surpassed my expectations!

Shortly after I tried the YOUTHMUD mask, I had to leave town for work. Traveling, of course, takes all the moisture out of your skin; it’s just awful. And for an already-dry girl like me, it’s extra tough having to deal with the lack of hydration. The THIRSTYMUD mask was just perfect: When I got home I immediately reached for the bright blue can and opened it to find a  more milky mask (to be expected, of course) that smelled of an iced almond milk latte. The first thing I noticed about the ingredients was the hyaluronic acid, which is a must for hydration. It’s what helps your skin hold on to that moisture. Other ingredients include raw honey, ginger root, and coconut, along with fruit and oat elements that pack extra moisture into skin. After using the mask I could see my skin was more supple and soft; the hydrating mask made my skin more plump and the difference is noticeable. Considering I have such dry skin, this mask is going to be a life saver for me. Masks aren’t strictly for purifying skin and getting rid of acne or blackheads; a mask like this is essential for pumping much needed moisture into thirsty skin!

It’s seriously one of my favorite masks to use, I especially love seeing all the gunk it’s sucking out of my pores (gross, I know).

Hehe. sexy, those mask selfies :-) Maybe it’ll become a thing! I’ve only tried the first mask, and it was a sample, but I did like it a lot. My skin felt so clean afterwards.

I really need to get my hands on the thirsty mud mask, looks so good! I see someone else asked, but have you tired the clearing mask? any thoughts on that one. People have holy grailed it (if that’s even a word) . Thoughts?
