Right about this time of year we all start thinking about our spring wardrobeโ€” and the glowing skin that should go with it! If you’re like me, you’ve spent much of the fall and winter nestled under an oversized sweater and leggings. My legs haven’t seen the light of day since… I can’t even remember!

But this year I’ve found the perfect solution for pale, dull skin. It’s pretty common knowledge that when using a sunless tanning cream or spray, you first have to exfoliate and then apply, right? But which are the best exfoliators and which are the best sunless tanning products? I’ve got both bases covered; here’s my guide to achieving the ideal pre-tan exfoliation and adding that sunless glow with my absolute favorite tanning product!

Let’s start with the face: Since I discovered O.R.G’s Organic Mineral Peel at the LA IMATS show, I’ve been hooked on this stuff. I use it two or three times a week for maximum exfoliation, and especially before I apply a tanning product. It gently removes all the dry and dead skin from the surface and really allows any product you put on to absorb into your skin. Usually, when I use an exfoliant on my face, I have to follow with a moisturizing product because my skin is so dry. But with the Organic Mineral Peel, I don’t even need to do that. Once I’m done, I begin applying the Million Dollar Tan Cabana Tan Face Extreme lotion. This rich cream is very hydrating, which is very important with tanning products. (They normally tend to dry out your skin.) And it smells like coconut!! The scent is natural and refreshing, and you don’t get that nasty sunless tanner smell at all… It’s the perfect sunless tanning product!

On to the body.

Given that I have the skin of a crocodile, I’ve tried pretty much every body scrub out there. And while I have a handful of favorites, my number one has to be the LaLicious Sugar Kiss Super Scrub. LaLicious is an all-natural product line, but what it does for my skin is nothing short of super natural: The very fine sugar granules combined with the coconut, sweet almond, and Vitamin E oils (along with other natural ingredients) leave my skin unbelievably smooth. It’s perfect before a tan; no risk of patchy dark spots! Love, love, love Lalicious.

Finally, after I exfoliate my body, I’ll move on to either the Million Dollar Tan Cabana Tan Body Extreme lotion or Tan Icon Extreme spray. Here’s the difference: The lotion goes on clear and develops in a few hours. The spray actually goes on with a tint of color (and it comes with a sponge brush so that you can spread it evenly) and the color develops even more over the next few hours. Both have an incredibly fresh scent. Personally, I prefer the spray just because it’s a bit quicker to use. Either way, all Million Dollar Tan products are paraben free and free of animal testing… Yes!

So visit LaLicious.com, ORGskincare.com, and MillionDollarTan.com and get your glow on.

Hi teni! love your blog! Sorry this is a little off-topic, but what lighting do you use when doing your makeup if daylight is not available? I need something good for my bedroom and bathroom, the lighting is very dim there. and then when i look in daylight it looks totally different ๐Ÿ™ I saw on your instagram that you mentioned using a ring light used by professional photographers for beauty shoots. I’m not too familiar with what that is, which brand/model do you have and where did you buy yours? and can you provide a link so i can see what it looks like online?

    thanks sooooooo much!!!!
