Blush is my favorite part of applying makeup; it’s a subtle hint of color but it really brightens up my skin! I love using a soft pink hue to bring more life to my face, and I’ve got a quick video on where I show you how I apply powder and cream blush!

Just like finding the perfect pink gloss, I’m always on the hunt for the perfect pink blush! Here are my current favorites:

My favorite powder blush is Instain by theBalm in Argyle, and my favorite cream blush is the Convertible Color by Stila in Gerbera. Read the full story and watch me apply them using my technique here!

If you follow me on Instagram you must have seen the photo I put up a few days ago featuring a golden/bronze makeup look. Practically every other comment urged me to do a tutorial for this look, so guess what this week’s video’s going to be?!

Before the video goes up, I’m going to share a list of the products I used to achieve this look:

For my eyes, I started out using the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I used Half Baked, Smog, and Darkhorse— pretty simple! I followed with my Laura Mercier Creme Eyeliner in Noir to line my upper and lower lash lines, and for my lashes, I must share my newest discovery: House of Lashes!! This was my first time trying a pair of their lashes and I’m hooked! I used the Noir Fairy style; these must be the best lashes I’ve ever tried. It’s a very full style with varied lengths across… My new favorite!

On to the face: For this look, it was important to add a lot of slightly shimmery bronze to my cheeks and a touch of gold highlight. I used the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips in Waikiki Strip to add the perfect glowing bronze to my face, and added just a bit of the NARS blush in Orgasm to my cheeks for a bit of color. Orgasm is a great coral shade with gold undertones that really complements this look. I finished off with a gold highlighter, also from NARS, from the Foreplay palette.

Finally, for my lips I applied the Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick in Juicy Peach. For a touch of gold, I took my La Femme loose pigment in #6 (it’s a peachy gold pigment) and applied with my finger just to the center of my lips. This added just enough gold to complement the look without stealing any thunder from the eyes!!

As soon as I saw a photo of the GLOgetter palette from LORAC, I knew I had to have it! It combines soft jewel tones with shimmery neutrals to create the perfect palette for the summer. Make no mistake: You won’t find a smokey eye in this palette, it’s ideal for more natural, glowing looks (hence the name!) with a pop of vibrant color for the season.

Here’s a Moroccan-inspired look I created using the GLOgetter palette:

First, I took shade 1 and covered my lids all over with this soft tangerine color. To create dimension and establish a neutral base, I took shade 2 and applied it liberally to my crease, focusing on the outer corners. To build some more color onto this look, I used shade 3 to layer over my crease, as well as apply to the inner corner of my brow bone. This not only adds a little color but it creates a romantic look. I also used shade 3 on my lower lash line, extending all the way across from inner corner to outer corner. To add some highlight, I took shade 4 and applied it to the inner corners of my eyes, concentrating the color on the very corners and blending outward over my lids and lower lash lines. Finally, I took shade 5 and used it to blending out any harsh lines above my crease. The key with this look is to blend everything out!

I added a rich chocolate-colored gel liner to my top and bottom lash line, (I used MAC’s Fluidline in Graphic Brown) and used a smudging brush to smudge it out just slightly. And I finished off with the Origins GinZing Mascara!

I cleaned up any eyeshadow that had fallen on my cheeks and began applying my Make Up For Ever HD Foundation. For my bronzer, I used NARS Casino to add some color to my face as well as an exaggerated contour under my cheekbones. Next I used the NARS Foreplay palette for my blush and highlighter. (I love the highlighting powder in this palette; it’s a golden/yellow highlighter that adds the most intense glow!)

Of course, the brows are a big part of this look: I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Genius Kit to perfect my brows and keep them in place all day. This stuff will not budge!! I always get the perfect set of brows out of this kit.

Finally, I applied my Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick in Juicy Peach.

And here’s a treat: Visit or head to your nearest Ulta and pick up the GLOgetter palette for just $20!! That’s a steal for the ultimate summertime palette!
