When it comes to a good statement necklace, for me, tribal is the way to go. Hammered gold, geometric shapes, intricate patterns and rich colors… Something about tribal jewelry instantly makes me feel strong and bold. For this tribal chic look I layered two necklaces: One is a more simple design, true to the tribal motif, and the one layered over it adds a touch of glam but still maintains the relevant shapes and pattern. Love this combo!

Gold makeup is my go-to during the summer. I’ve usually got a deep tan in the warmer months so gold makeup adds an awesome glow with little effort. In fact, I actually love pairing gold lids with gold lips!

I’ve got a pale gold shadow on my lids down to my lower lash line and I added a darker gold and shimmery brown to the crease. In the daytime, I’d skip the eyeliner but for this look I added a bit of drama with some black liner and big lashes.

For my lips, I started with a nude matte lipstick and added loose gold pigment with my fingers just to the center of my lips. This not only adds the gold touch but it’ll make your lips appear fuller!

With gold accessories, I love using nature-inspired pieces. I have so many leaf and feather necklaces, bracelets, and rings, but this feather cuff happens to be my favorite. I paired it up with an arrow cuff (also nature-inspired) and threw in a more classic cuff.

… And then there are gold accents! I’m loving these strappy heels from Zara; the cobalt-gold combination is gorgeous and perfect for summertime. These are totally business in the front, party in the back: From the front all you see are the two blue straps, but when you turn around the gold heel is a showstopper!

One of the most common questions I get here and on YouTube is about my skin. And if you know me, you know I take very good care of it! I’ve searched high and low for the best skincare products and, of course, I share them with you all. I want to make sure I’m recommending only the best of the best, (in every price range, that is) and this one is right at the top of my list: Kate Somerville’s ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment. I tried this product a long time ago and absolutely loved it; I’ve used it in phases ever since, but I think I’m going to stick to it for good!

It just makes my skin unbelievably smooth. It’s as if I just peeled off a layer of my skin and grew a brand new and healthy canvas. I compared my own experience with ExfoliKate with the reviews of other satisfied fans, and one word we all had in common was glow. This stuff makes your skin glow! It just brings a brightness to my face that I haven’t seen with any other product.

With ExfoliKate, you have to be sure you read the instructions carefully: Unlike most exfoliants, ExfoliKate is not technically a scrub. It has the consistency of one, but here’s how you use it: Cleanse your face, but don’t pat it dry. Leave it wet and apply a small amount of ExfoliKate to your skin and begin massaging in circular motions for about 30 seconds. Once that’s done, just let it sit for a couple minutes while the enzymes and acids go to work brightening and beautifying your skin. You might feel a slight tingling sensation while you wait, (if you’re not used to exfoliating or using products with any type of acid in them, you may feel it more. It might even get uncomfortable; if that’s the case, simply rinse it off and follow with a light moisturizer) and then just rinse and pat dry. I ended up getting a sample of the Kate Somerville retinol cream with my purchase, so I applied that after. A great option to follow with is 100% pure argan oil to sooth your skin and kick up the moisture.

This powerful product is a bit on the pricey side (a 2 oz. tube will run you about $85) but the great thing is that it comes in a smaller size for just $22! It’s a great chance to try it out before committing to a hefty price tag. The mini size will get you anywhere from about eight to twelve uses depending on how much you use each time.

I’m pretty partial to matte eyeshadows; you can create much more sophisticated looks with matte shades. TheBalm just sent me some of their goodies (cannot wait to share them… I’ve found some favorites in this bunch!) and one of them is a nude matte eyeshadow palette, cleverly named “Meet Matt(e).” This nude edition packs every neutral shade you’ll need— here’s a breakdown of each Matt:

Matt Johnson – A gorgeous charcoal-slate shade. Mixed with the blush shadow, it turns into a beautiful purplish color. Great for creating depth!

Matt Garcia – This is a reddish brown, it’s a shadow color that I don’t see very often. Pair this with Matt Wood for a warm smokey eye.

Matt Malloy – I loved that they gave this color an Irish name; it’s perfect for this super pale shade. It’s a pretty basic white with just the slightest yellow undertone.

Matt Rosen – This beautiful chestnut shade is perfect for blending. If you want a really natural look, pop this into your crease for just a little depth, keeping the color very neutral.

Matt Wood – Another appropriate name. This color reminds me so much of cherry wood! It’s a very deep brown shade with a hint of maroon.

Matt Singh – This one is probably my favorite color in the palette. I’ve even tried it as a blush and it’s gorgeous!! Sweep this all over your lids and just add some mascara for a fresh, natural look.

Matt Abdul – A lavender gray. Another great shade for blending.

Matt Lombardi – I love this color!! It reminds me of butter.

Matt Hung – If mauve and slate had a baby, it would be Matt Hung. If you’re looking for a shade of gray with a little warmth to it, this is it!

I basically wear Make Your Move to sleep now, I simply cannot get enough of this neutral mauve with just a hint of rose. (My olive girls, this is a winner!! It really complements my skin.) I end up with a velvety natural finish that leaves my lips super hydrated. This one just moved to the top of my list of favorite lipsticks!

Light It Up kind of surprised me; I really didn’t expect such a rich, pigmented color but this bright coral-meets-tangerine goes on 100% opaque, and 100% gorgeous. It’s the perfect color for the summer, especially if you wanna go easy on the eye makeup. It’s a showstopper!
