QUIKSILVER: SPRING 2012

Quiksilver is well-known for its surf and swimwear, but last night was all about the Spring 2012 women’s collection at The Eveleigh in LA. I had a chance to preview the line and chat with John Moore, Quiksilver women’s head designer, about the inspiration behind the threads. Not surprisingly, he confessed that he’s a huge fan of vintage, which largely inspired the collection.

As if I needed another reason to want it to be spring already, Quiksilver Spring 2012 became an instant favorite! It embodies classic California-cool with a very vintage vibe, and the attention to detail is clear: Every single piece demanded closer inspection… There wasn’t one item I wasn’t drawn to! Although it was hard to pick favorites among this bunch, here are my top three picks:

QSW Native Squares Tunic Dress
QSW Native Blanket Wrap
QSW Coast Sweater
QSW Sebastian Slouchy Beach Pant

.

Okay, so I picked four favorites! Trust me, you’d have trouble choosing just a few from this collection, too.

The photos captured the styles nicely, but you really have to feel these fabrics to appreciate the quality and comfort. The variety of textures and patterns in this collection make every single piece one you want hanging in your closet!

The Quiksilver team had a fun station set up for their crafty guests, too: Using the fabrics they’ve used in the Spring 2012 collection, we created our own custom bracelets!

Another highlight of the evening was the launch of Quiksilver’s film series, Water Dancer. Be sure to check it out when it debuts on the Quiksilver site tomorrow!

… And stop by Eveleigh on Sunset Blvd. The food is divine!

Oh, ya know… Just an impromptu photo shoot with the Quiksilver gear!
