Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow

If you saw my Bombshell Makeup Tutorial a few weeks ago, you’ll know I have a new favorite in eye makeup: The Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow. I picked it up in Kitten because I’ve always been a huge fan of the original Stila Kitten eye shadow, (and the lip gloss that came out later by the same name!) so I figured it was the perfect color to try. As I suspected, the color was gorgeous.ย Stila was kind enough to send me some more shades to try, and just in time for the first day of spring: These colors are going to be perfect for the season!

Though the effect is similar, I very much prefer this formula over loose glitter or shimmer powders for a couple of reasons: One being that anything loose, most especially glitter, is far too messy to work with; this stuff stays exactly where you put it. And the fact is that loose glitter is just not that wearable! The Magnificent Metals have a more subdued glitter effect but they’re extremely high-shine, so the finish is much more beautiful than traditional glitter or shimmer. It’s aptly named, really… “Foil” is the best way to describe it.

Here are the swatches, from left to right: Metallic Pixie Dust, Metallic Peach, Metallic Rose Quartz, Metallic Lilac, Metallic Violet, Metallic Jade.

Teni, please tell me you’ve tried the Kitten duo highlighter and Kitten smudge stick as well!! The highlighter duo is STUNNING, the more bronzey side of the duo is just perfection when you have a tan going! I also really like their smudgey cream eye shadow sticks. Kitten is of course just delightful all over the lid, inner corner and extended to the inner lower lash line. My most recent purchase from Stilla is one of their smudge stick waterproof eyeliners in Mint Julip…. The next time you’re in Sephora or Ulta do yourself a favor and swatch that specific color… It will knock your socks off! I would LOVE to see a spring look using that liner or something similar! Thanks for sharing love! Xoxox

I love these – but I don’t understand why they give you so little of the liquid eye primer. I’ve been meaning to try using the shadows with Fix+.

    • You know what, I don’t even use the liquid! Only rarely… I find it works great just by itself. I didn’t notice much of a difference using the liquid… Maybe it’s the staying power??

Teni, inasmuch as you are an animal lover, could you produce a video tutorial utilizing strictly cruelty free products? Perhaps, you could produce one focusing on drug store cruelty free brands and another that focuses on higher end or prestige brands. In so doing, you shall invariably educate and bring awareness to your audience regarding the importance of inner beauty which shall only enhance their outer beauty.

Hello Teni – although this post is regarding eyeshadow..I was wondering, what is your favorite bronzer? I’m not sure whether to go with a shimmer or matte for a more every day look? Thanks for the input! Love all of your beauty videos and blogs!

Ah these are so gorgeous! I’ve had my eyes on these for quite some time and don’t know why I’ve put off buying them but after seeing your swatches I feel like I definitely need these in my collection now! I love the kitten shade in everything and the metallic rose quartz color looks to die for! Thanks for sharing!
