RUNWAY REPORT: 90’s HAIR MAKES A COMEBACK

I’m a huge fan of clipless curling irons. It gives you a completely different look when you wrap your hair around the rod rather than clamping and rolling up. It’s the difference between polished, bouffant curls and cool, sexy waves. At Alexander Wang‘s Fall 2011 show, acclaimed stylist Guido used Sultra’s Sophisticated Power Dryer and Bombshell Clip-less One-Inch Rod Curling Iron to create what he calls, “Downtown chic with a 90’s edge.”

To get the look, Guido first prepped the hair, parted it in the middle and used the Sultra Sophisticated Power Dryer to dry it. Then, he wrapped loose sections of hair around the Sultra Bombshell Clip-less Rod Curling Iron to create textured, unstructured waves. Guido explains, “This iron is so perfect– I love how there is no clamp to catch the hair and how it creates perfect bedhead-like curls.” Next, he placed the hair in a loose, undone pony and tucked pieces behind the ears to create a nonchalant, quintessential 1990’s Kate Moss-inspired downtown look that beautifully complemented Wang’s fall collection.

With the Sultra Bombshell One-inch Rod Curling Iron, you can create curls and waves in half the time without the annoying bends and lines caused by clip curling irons. The smooth rod barrel provides constant, even 360ยฐF heat and features Kyoceraยฎ Ceramic Technology to repair hair with infrared rays while you styleโ€ฆ Did you get that?? It actually helps repair your hair as you use it!! Run out to Sephora and get yourself one at $130 before everyone catches on!

The Sultra Sophisticated Power Dryer features Ionic and Ceramic Infrared Generators for powerful drying without frying. The Ionic Generator produces 100% negative ions– more than any other dryer available on the market– which allows for faster drying time and healthier strands. This dryer, too, contains a Ceramic Infrared Generator that produces higher amounts of infrared waves that help seal the cuticle and dry the hair shaft from within for softer, shinier hair. Go ahead and this one to your shopping cart! Find it at Sephora or Sephora.com for $245.

Check out the Styling Tips section on Sultra.com for How-To’s. Sephora.com also has some stuff and so does Cosmoprofbeauty.com – but you have to be a stylist to visit the pages.

  • I’ve had several requests to do a tutorial for how to get those relaxed waves, so watch out for a video coming soon!!
