THE SWEET LIFE
Every now and then we have the pleasure of experiencing moments that make us realize how truly sweet life can be. Last night was full of those moments.
To make a long and serendipitously beautiful story short, my friend Lilit (you’ll know her as MakeupByLilit on Instagram and from her makeup studio in Studio City) got together with Viola of Project Sweet Stuff and made some serious magic. The two had a vision of bringing like-minded women together to celebrate the sweet life and share what it is that the sweet life means to us. That vision turned into an unforgettable night of memories and lessons I will cherish!
The evening began with champagne and small bites as all the guests made their way in. Every last detail was accounted for: The food was exceptionally tasty, the flowers and decor were stunning, and the desserts, made by Viola herself, were divine!
But besides the food and entertainment, the truly special part of the evening was when we each went around the dinner table and described what the sweet life meant to us. In the following hour we all laughed, cried, and shared some of our innermost thoughts and dreams with the group. No one touched their fork while each guest spoke; we shared life stories, most of which shaped who we each are today. After we’d all shared, we just looked around and had the same thought: Every woman should be experiencing this support! It was incredible to say the least. We all left the conversation feeling so refreshed and motivated to share that love and encouragement with everyone! You know, as women, we tend to sacrifice so much throughout our lives; many times for good things, but it’s still a sacrifice. The last thing we need is to feel defensive or overly competitive with other women, we need to take that pressure off! Because at the end of the day, we’re all coming from the same place. We’re all dreamers chasing a dream. It was so inspiring to hear woman after woman share how she turned from a dreamer to a doer. Brava, ladies.
I feel like I have the strength of ten men (or women, shall I say!) behind me after hearing what odds some of you have overcome to be where you are today. It’s been a rough few months that have drained the life out of me while I try to find the balance between work and life. But I must say that last night gave me just the recharge I needed.
Thank you to Lilit and Viola for extending the invitation to me, I was truly honored to take part in such a memorable evening. And thank you to LadyBugz Inc. and Evo for hosting and sponsoring such a lovely event; and last, but not least, thank you so much to the gift sponsors for showering us with amazing goodie bags!
