The only thing worse than pimples are the marks they leave behind after they’re done making themselves at home on your face for a few days. The red marks can stick around anywhere from a few days to even a few months, but there are steps we can take to reduce the redness and eventually fade them away. One great trick is to use a hydrocortisone cream like Cortizone 10 or Cortaid, which are typically used to treat itching, insect bites, and rashes among other things. You can get these creams over the counter (they contain 1%  hydrocortisone, which is the maximum amount allowed without a prescription), or you can visit your physician for a prescription. Here’s what you do: Apply a bit of the cream over the red mark twice a day for four days up to a week, and that should do it! For more severe marks, you should definitely see a dermatologist for more powerful products, but the hydrocortisone cream should work without a problem for less severe acne marks.
