Awesome! Thanks for posting! I have to try the Argan oil.

You should do your eyebrow lightening video or a video about getting good layers at your hair cut. You mentioned something about keeping the hair around your ears longer but a video would be helpful! Please πŸ™‚

I also recently copied your look from the Luxy hair video and got lots of compliments about my makeup so thanks!!

    • I’ve got something in the works for a detailed hair video, so stay tuned for that! I’m gonna be doing an eyebrow lightening video soon as well… As soon as my eyebrows get dark again, lol.

Teni, I’m such a huge fan of yours. Literally, if you say it works, I believe, I’ll buy..I bought the Lashem set. Just FYI: I used a promo code i found for Lashem – it’s Lashem20. It worked and I got 20% off. My set came out to $137.00. I’ve been using Argan Oil myself. I have oily and acne prone skin and I have to say, I’ve seen a huge difference..not only on my skin but when applying foundation, it’s flawless..such a difference. Thank you for your dedication, videos, everything. I can’t wait for your eyebrow video. I have very dark full eyebrows like you…

    • Jen, I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying my recommendations!! Knowing that people trust me this way keeps me committed to only recommending the best!! Good to hear the argan oil is working for your oily skin, a lot of people are hesitant to use an oil, but it’s definitely worth a try, obviously it worked out great for you πŸ™‚ Thanks for the support!! xx

I’m soooooooo happy I found you……. You are an inspiration to a lot of people who I’m sure would agree with me!
Not only to you give great tips for everyone to use, but you answer to a lot of questions that everyone has. YOUR AMAZING!!!
Is it possible that you can do a tutorial to the profile picture that you have on FB/INSTAGRAM?
It would be great for me cause I work in an office and that would be ideal for me to wear everyday!

If you can’t , could you at least write down all the colors you wore?

    Many Thanks

    • You know what, that’s the makeup from my “Party Makeup” tutorial!! It just doesn’t look as dramatic because the lighting is brighter. If you recreate that look, just apply the colors lightly and it’ll be perfect for daytime and the office πŸ™‚ The palette I used is the “She Wears It Well” palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

I love you your the best

Now my skin is oily ist fine if I use argen oil ?? Would it make it more oily ??!

    • Yes, I still think it’s worth a try! It’s a natural oil, not like mineral oil or any other cheap oils that will clog your pores. It may not be for everyone, but the benefits are good enough that you might want to try it.

  • Vadia says:

And what kinda serum would you recommend for anti agen and wrinkles I mean I don’t have wrinkles right now but I love to protect my skin from now!!? I am using lancome youth serum do you think it’s good!?

    • Did you take a look at the video? I am using two eye serums right now, one for brightening and one for anti aging, both of them are by Lashem.

Hey Teni, I’ve got a question. I’m getting married next month and I bought MAC’s Face&body foundation and pressed powder to set it. Trouble is, I feel really oily after a few hours. Even when using their Fix+ to set it. I live in Australia and where I’m getting married is a really hot dry heat. I’m looking for a semi matte to matte foundation that looks flawless but is sheer as I have quite good skin (on the dry side). What can I try that’s not too expensive? As I’ve spent all my makeup budget on MAC products!?! X

    • Honestly, MAC foundations and skin products are definitely not my favorite πŸ™ The Make Up For Ever HD Foundation would be my pick especially for something like a wedding. It’s not sheer, it’s a medium coverage foundation, but never looks heavy and it makes your skin flawless and velvety matte. And since you’re going to be photographed plenty on that day, this makeup will make your skin look perfect… And if you want to make it appear a little more sheer, mix it with just a little bit of moisturizer to lighten up the coverage. I have to say, though, this foundation is a bit on the pricey side ($42 US I believe) but it is WELL worth it and will last you a long time.

Thanks! I’ll try to find a stockist in Australia. You’re the best! X

  • Love this video, can you provide a link to the Lashem products? I want to make sure I order the correct product. Thanks!

  • Yeah, thank you so much! I wasn’t sure because your products look pink and yellow in the video and on the site they are all silver so I just wanted to check. Thanks, love your videos.

  • Veronica says:

As far as toner goes, are you still using the hydrogen peroxide?? If so, when do you use it: after you cleanse your face, before the argan oil??

    • The hydrogen peroxide I was using only over my breakouts to clear them of any extra bacteria that might have been feeding more blemishes. Or if I extract a blemish, I’ll clean it with the hydrogen peroxide. I wouldn’t recommend using it TOO much, though. Lately I haven’t had to use it very much anyhow! But, yes, if you do need to use the hydrogen peroxide for any reason, use it before you apply the argan oil.

Teni, I thought I would share an amazing & very affordable skincare line that I ran across by accident when watching a makeup tutorial it’s called “Paula’s Choice” check out the reviews as well as the short videos that explain what each product is & the skin type it’s for. So happy that they have a anti-aging/acne line its amazing! (Love the BHA lotion) The customer service is unbeatable & is more then happy to help anyone who maybe unsure which products are right for there skin type. I am in no way affiliated with Paula’s choice, I am just a happy customer who would like to share a great beauty secret when she knows one. Please let me know if you have used any of her products before. Thanks! Olivia

  • Katherine says:

Do you have any tips or recommendations for overall skincare or moisterizers?

  • Olivia says:

Kathrine I am assuming you were responding to my post so if you were then here is what I use but you can always try samples first or try one product and if you like it then try another.
Twice a week at night I use “Tazorac Cream 0.1%” (it’s prescription only) similar to Retinol & I apply a pea size over my moisturizer at night and always, always wear SPF 30 moisturizer everyday! I just started using the Paula’s Choice 4 months ago. The Tazorac is very very good for anti-aging & helps with acne as well and the tube lasts a long long time ask a dermatologist if its the right choice for your skin type. As far as the Paula’s Choice products I wanted anti-aging & anti-acne products so this is what I am currently using.

    *Skin Balancing Oil-Reducing Cleanser
    *RESIST Advanced Replenishing Toner
*Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (Day time)
*RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% AHA (Night time once or twice a week)
*RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum
    *RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator
    *Skin Recovery Hydrating Treatment Mask

    1 Cleanser
    2 Toner
    3 Exfoliant
4 (Retinoids if using but only at night, perscription only)
    5 Serum or Antioxidants
    6 Moisturizer, day time w/ SPF30 always!

Depending on your skin type you may need something a little different for example if you get the “2% BHA” you may need the cream or gel instead of the liquid? The awesome thing is that you can buy sample packets so you can try it first if your not sure. You can also ask the awesome customer care people what products would be best for you if your unsure after checking out the products. Sorry for the long response but I am obsessed with skin care & anti-aging stuff and worked with a dermatologist for years which is more then likely why I am obsessed.

Hi Teni,I want to ask you a favor… I have very dry skin maybe like yours lol, so I want to buy all the products that u use, I just order the two creams for my eyes from lashem… So can you make me a list with the name of the brands please, I will appreciate it, thanks you…. by the way you are an inspiration to me πŸ™‚ God bless you!!

    • Sure thing! The two products that I use for my dry skin that I LOVE are the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil and the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer. One is an oil, the other is a rich cream… I use both because they both have great benefits for my skin. I hope this helps!!

  • tatiana says:

Ohh I’m almost 28 so some products for anti-aging please.. thanks…

  • tatiana says:

Thank you very much, I’m gonna order them today πŸ™‚

  • KurlyK says:

Great information! Do you have any recommendations for oily or combination skin? I’m not sure if the step with Aragan Oil will work for me.

    • Argan oil works great for all skin types, even oily. In fact I’ve been told from people who have oily skin that it’s actually made their skin LESS oily.

  • Jasmine says:

Hi, in regards to the Lashem Set eye products, where could i purchase this from? I live in Australia and i have never heard about this product before

  • Jasmine says:

Also you mentioned the brand of Argon Oil you are using – could you please tell it to me – didnt quick catch it in the video

  • Michelle says:

    Hi Teni,
I came across your name on YouTube on the luxyhair channel. I loved your style so I decided to check your channel and you give out very helpful tips, specially on dry skin. I have the same problem. I try to avoid the sun because I have very dry and sensitive skin but I was wondering as far as sunscreen , what do you use for your face or what do you recommend?

    Thnx so much,

    • Hey Michelle, I just started using the Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense Lotion (longest title EVER!) and I love it. It’s got great ingredients for your skin but most importantly it keeps my dry skin hydrated and it has an SPF 30! If you need something SUPER rich, try the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer, they make it with an spf as well but it’s only 15. Go to Sephora and ask them for a sample of the Peter Thomas Roth cream and try it out to see if you like it.

  • Harprit says:

I love your website! Love your advice. After watching this video, I went to Sephora and bought the Ole Henriksen Vitamin C product as well as the Argan oil. Liking these products so far – they smell great! I just got done ordering the eye creams from Lashem! Excited to try the product. Question I have is, what is your recommendation for day time moisturizer? I have normal skin. I am always looking for something that is anti-aging (I am 32) and has SPF. Any recommendations? Thanks!!!!!

    • Glad you’re liking the products! For a day moisturizer, I’ve been using the Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense Lotion SPF 30. LOVE it so far! Ask Sephora if they will give you a sample of it, or they also have a small travel size for $12 that you can start using first and see if you like it. It’s lightweight enough that it won’t leave that white residue on my face that most SPF’s do, but it’s hydrating enough for my super dry skin.

    Hi Teni,
I have a question about dark under eye circles. Would you recommend the Lashem duo or the Shiseido?
I want something that’s good for very dark circles, but also wrinkle prevention. Any other product suggestions?
    Thanks so much!

    • I honestly love both. What I like about the Lashem duo is that it’s two different creams that target two different problems: One for brightening, one for wrinkle prevention. I’m enjoying it so far! The Shiseido White Lucent eye cream is wonderful for brightening as well. You can’t go wrong with either product πŸ™‚

    • In fact, if very dark circles are your main issue, try the Shiseido White Lucent eye cream first… The entire White Lucent line is specifically targeted at taking darkness away.

  • Liz says:

Hey miss maven! What lip color are you wearing in this video?

  • Jaspreet says:

    Hi Teni!
Quick question, have you tried makeup (foundation or tinted moisturizer specifically)from 100% Pure ( It’s ‘fruit pigmented cosmetics.’ I tried researching some reviews and then realized you might know (or want to know – and then possibly do a review…heehee =D) since it’s all fruit extracts so would skin care really (right?) and b/c it’s 100% vegan too! Have you or could you try it? Thanks as always Teni, stay beautiful and cheery!
